Overview

In November 2012, we developed a comprehensive reimbursement program for affected current and former vehicle owners to cover the additional fuel costs associated with the MPG rating changes. If you are eligible and follow the process described here, you will receive a Kia Visa® Prepaid Card which will reimburse you for the difference in the EPA combined fuel economy rating, based on the fuel price in your region and your actual miles driven. In addition, recognizing the inconvenience this may cause, we will add an extra 15-percent premium to your reimbursement amount.

If you’re a current owner, it’s important to note that reimbursement will be available for as long as you own your vehicle.  Prior owners of affected vehicles who have already sold their cars will also be reimbursed using the same formula.

To take advantage of this reimbursement program, please visit our Reimbursement Estimator to see if your vehicle is affected and qualifies, and to estimate your potential compensation.

Although the lifetime reimbursement program described above continues, Kia, through a recent class action settlement, is also offering the option of a single lump sum cash payment for those customers who would rather not return to a dealership to have their mileage verified. So, through either the one-time lump sum payment or original lifetime reimbursement program, customers have the option of being made fully whole for Kia’s ratings restatement.  For more information on the settlement and options for reimbursement, visit www.KiaMPGClassSettlement.com.

Our goal is to make this process as easy and convenient as possible. Meanwhile, please know that we are committed as ever to reducing the fuel consumption and emissions of our vehicles in order to provide greater value and efficiency for you, the owner.
